Irene 'Tootie' Gullette (Aunt) (1926 - 2003)
My dad's sister and my aunt, this was a woman who had a strength about her that was incredible. As a young kid, I was often intimidated by her but then I was intimidated by a lot of people growing up. Aunt "Tootie" always carried herself with dignity, class and was dedicated and devoted to all things family. She had kind words for me, even though I wish I had gotten to know her better over the years. I learned of how she felt about me from those that attended her funeral. I wasn't able to attend but heard through the grapevine that she had only the best things to say about me. That moved me beyond words and I carry her spirit within as I continue the journey of life.
